The İstanbul Kültür University Department of Economics was founded to train the economists that Turkey requires in the economic growth and development process.

Economics is a very important science for the national economy as it includes macro balances such as growth and development, export-import, employment, unemployment, financial markets and stock exchanges, investment, production and consumption, income and expense.

In this respect, the Department of Economics has an up-to-date undergraduate program and aims to raise top executives for both the private and public sectors.

Our Department offers its students a unique program that includes both theory and practice. The curriculum of the Department of Economics is constantly updated within the scope of socio-economic developments. Our students are guided to follow current social and economic events, so they have the ability to put the theoretical knowledge into practice when they graduate.

Successful students of the Department of Economics can obtain a second diploma by enrolling in the Double Major Program of any department.

Students can also study abroad within the Erasmus+ student exchange program. 
The duration of education is 4 years in the Department of Economics and courses are given in 8 semesters.
