Assoc. Prof. Begüm Erdil Şahin and Res. Asst. G. Derya Zayim presented their papers titled "Inflation and Currency Relations in Turkey: Time Series Analysis with New Findings’’ in the congress named "ICE-TEA2021- The Seventh International Conference on Economics" organized online by Turkey Economic Association on April 9-11, 2021.

The Department of Economics, organized an e-seminar titled “Energy Sector and The Expectations for the Future” moderated by one of our academics Assoc. Prof. Begüm Erdil Şahin on March 24, 2021 Wednesday, at 14.00. In the seminar, in which Emre Yıldız, Shell Energy Turkey Country Manager and Member of Board of Directors, attended as the speaker, the expectations about the sector’s future, sustainable energy policies and the global developments in the sector were discussed.

The Department of Economics organized a webinar titled "Islamic Economics Scientific Research Program and Its Contributions to Science" on the Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application on Friday, March 19, 2021. Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty Member & Islamic Economics Research Center Advisory Board Member Prof Dr. Hakan Sarıbaş attended the event where Research Assistant İsmail Ertek, a faculty member of the Department of Economics, was the moderator.

"YOUNG PEOPLE KNOWING THEIR BUDGETS"

In cooperation with the Department of Economics and FODER, an e-seminar titled "Young People Knowing Their Budget" was held on the ZOOM platform on Monday, March 22, 2021, at 17:00, as part of the Global Money Week. At the event where FODER Secretary General, Dr. Yasemin Demirbağ was the speaker, issues such as budget, savings, income-expenditure balance, investment, demand-need distinction were discussed by conveying general information about financial literacy awareness and money management.

"COVID-19’s Effects on Turkey's Economy"

Department of Economics held a e-seminar which Prof. Dr. Harun Öztürkler is a speaker titled "Covid-19’s Effects on Turkey's Economy" on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. A wide range of effects on Turkey's economy and Covid-19 was transferred to the participants at the event covered economic policies. TurkStat data and past crises were discussed, and the emergence of two demand and supply shocks were discussed. adequacy of Turkey's fiscal and monetary policies implemented since March 2020, and discussed what should be done in the future.
